After two nights at the bay plaza hotel, it was time to get back to our little camper. ( nancy has nicknamed it " cramper!). We got up early to get in line for the inter islander ferry to Picton on the South Island. Since school holidays just started there were plenty of people ready to board. Our departure was at 815 and the journey 3.5 hours across the cook strait. Again the weather was rainy, but the sail out beautiful to see all the massive islands and coves. In Picton we were ready for a hike across the marina for a view of the harbour. We got lucky to have a break in the rain just in time for the two hour hike! The 2.5 hour drive to Nelson took us along the picturesque queen Charlotte drive. Narrow and winding, the views were amazing. Now were back to the camper! Stephens cooking up a delicious dinner and we r comfy in our "tiny house"!
