Nelson and Abel Tasman national park

It looked lIke yet another rainy day but we decided to head out to marahai anyway to begin a trek along the coastal path of the Abel Yasmin national park. Lucky for us after a brief shower, the sun broke out for the remainder of our hike! The path was well manicured and quite easy and took us along the cliffs above the sandy beaches below. The views were spectacular with rocky shorelines, deserted islands and amazing land formations worn down by the sea. After almost two hours we walked down to apple tree bay and stopped for a picnic lunch. We felt pretty much alone in these amazing surroundings. A paradise for sure. The drive back to Nelson was about an hour, but stopped to check out motueka along the way. The town is surrounded by fruit farms and wineries. Another perfect day!
