Tofino Vancouver island

After a two hour drive over windy narrow mountainous roads and passes to the other side if the island. Our first stop was Long Beach. it was desolate vast wide beach with very few people out walking since the wind was very strong. Luckily the sun was out so it made for an incredible walk. We found loads of drift wood and logs everywhere along the beach. The waves were very high and this is known as the best place in Canada for surfing. A handful if brave folks in wetsuits were out there. From there we drove into Tofino for lunch. A quick walk around the harbour and native Indian craft shops and we were back on the road. The town is really at the farthest western point in Canada and busy in the summer with tourists. Today was mostly fishing boats and locals. A stunning spot if islands and mountains and inland waterways.
